$11 million train station upgrade for Lindfield

Lindfield train station has received an $11 million facelift. An easy access upgrade had been completed, providing greater access for people with disabilities, the elderly and customers with prams and young children.

CityRail customers will welcome the upgrade to Lindfield Station, which incorporates a modern architectural design and a new entrance on the Pacific Highway side.

The station upgrade provides two new family accessible toilets on the concourse and on platform 1 and five new retail outlets for the benefit and convenience of customers.

The train station upgrade for Lindfield Station also includes:

  • Two new lifts;
  • A new easy access ramp;
  • Widening of the existing concourse;
  • New concourse roofing;
  • Platform resurfacing;
  • New station signage;
  • Landscaping works; and
  • Station painting.

The upgrade of Lindfield Station increases accessibility, convenience and comfort for approximately 3,300 customers who use the station each day.

The upgrade of Lindfield Station is part of the NSW Governments’ Easy Access Program. To date, $484 million has been invested in upgrading stations across the CityRail Network.

The 2009 timetable was also improving services for commuters at Lindfield. Seating capacity has been increased with six-car trains building to eight-car trains on more services.

Passengers also have direct access to the Macquarie Park employment and education hub, with the Epping to Chatswood Rail Link now incorporated into the network.
